Raincoats and Teddy Boys Longings

As I am growing tired of carrying umbrellas in this so wet Spring in England that doesn’t seem to kick-start off! I am now looking for a cute colourful raincoat in strong impermeable material and as not really sure this shade of Red will look good on me, least I look like Red Ridding Hood looking for a wolf when I pop into green Park @ lunch time, I would prefer a darker shade of red or any other colour, I love this picture though, it epitomizes the British spirit I am so fond off…
and talking about British spirit and street fashion, I’ve been watching this documentary about men’s street fashion in the 50′s/60′s in curious search of well-groomed smart guys that are hard to find today since their style has gone way too laid back or sporty. It is a field I hardly ever get into because I kind of always direct styling to women, that’s my thing really. So! Where did the Teddy Boys go??! We need them back I say!
How much colour would you want to wear?!

and in a such a rich season like this Spring when not even the rain has quenched, not a bit, our lush for colour and therefore the splash of bright and intense, even neon colours on every high street shop…Well, that depends, if you look as cute as my friend here, you can get away with murder!
but the reality is that many colours don’t suit everyone, there are many shades as to many types so the best way forward could be just to add a dash of colour on an item or detail you wear, in the one colour that you think really suits and go for it big time, that if you have not done your colour therapy to asses whether you are a Winter, Summer, Spring or Autumn type depending on the colour of your eyes, hair and skin tone which is beyond the scope of this post by the way; I have the post to clarify about that on another post I did a while ago, you can click here to read it.
Anyway, my point here is that, for me it’s better not to overdo and wear an intense colour or mix march too many so best focus it on a detail or accesory over an overall neutral outfit. I was strolling around Oxford Street at lunch time and these bags cought my eye:
Loewe @ Selfridges
An indulgence in every shade, the Leather is so ultra soft though the price is a bit hard, each one over £1,000.00…fancies pretty much stopped there!
and nail polish to go with them! The Castaway Collection @ John Lewis; how about the yellow one?
Zara’s Window @ Corner Oxford St/ Bond St

Ths Catwalk from October predicting Spring 12 by Ellie Saab who hardly ever gets it lame, hits the spot this spring week in his all over one colour trend. The colour intensity of greens and purples is stunning…and the mustard yellow and whites! this video starts a bit grim but it’s all due to the first soooongs zzz then it gets better and the clothes dance on their own…wow factor? oh yes! not very practical on streetwise level but highly inspiring nevertheless…

April showers this year though, seem more like downfalls, so if it’s raining too much and need to protect your slick curls from the damp, why not break the normal glum of the black umbrella and choose one on the best colour for you? today my favourite it’s one that gives a warm glow on the skin; but this can change tomorrow :p
have a look at the link I share with the photo, if you serious about getting one.
